The artist duo BOSMOS existed from 2008 to 2024. I founded it together with Dutch composer and sound designer Wilco Alkema. We wanted to create theater that did not require actors or text. In our performances, we brought stage sets and spaces to life with music, light, and projection. Instead of specifying themes or content, we were more concerned with atmosphere and mood—the audience was supposed to discover their own stories in our productions.
We found inspiration in themes such as nature vs. technology, time and space, standstill and absence, and science fiction. We always avoided meaning and interpretation. And we rejected any expectations of a conventional theater evening.
Starting in 2015, we expanded our work to exhibition spaces and developed walk-in installations made of light and sound objects.
During our 16 years of collaboration, we have performed and installed our work in theaters, concert halls, festivals, galleries, forests, and even living rooms.
